I understand from reading this group in the past that some of you are fans of Lois McMaster Bujold's Miles Vorkosigan books.

So when I was in the break room at work and found among the new prepubs an ARC of Cryoburn, I immediately thought of you guys.

Anybody want it?

Yeah! Yeah! ... I would like it, thank you. Contacting by private message.

Oh boy!

I would totally want that, except I'm still working my way through the series. I'm only on Mirror Dance (still waiting for it from Amazon!) so by the time I get to Cryoburn it'll be published already. But this is a great find.

And are you *not* a Miles Vorkosigan fan? If you haven't read any of them yet, I highly recommend it.

You're about to read my favorite! It seriously saved my sanity during my first semester of college. (I have some second-sibling issues.)

Ooh. I want to read it again now. It's decided. When I finish this thesis, I'm rereading Mirror Dance again.

I'm too late. *sigh* But I've already pre-ordered the book, so I guess I'll live.

I would so marry Miles if he were real, even though he actually manages to be shorter than I am (which is quite a feat).

Are you saying you wouldn't? *g*

'Course I would. But it's like with Gen--I'd want to kill him after a week I'm afraid.

There is that very strong possibility. *g*

Ah well. Guess I'm too late. (Probably won't have the time to read and re-read properly till it's out anyways. Yes, I usually reread a new Bujold immediately. It's usually too difficult to decide which bits are the "best bits" I want to savor again, so I just savor the whole thing.)

too many caps, sorry

WAIT, you're all, like, HEY THERE'S AN ARC OF CRYOBURN JUST SITTING HERE. IN THE BREAK ROOM. TOSSED ASIDE LIKE AN ORANGE PEEL OR EMPTY MOUNTAIN DEW CAN. LALALA.

WHAT?? :)

I am waiting patiently until it comes out, then will sedately buy the hardback. After months of hoping it lives up to Miles. MILES.

Anyway, long time no see! How have you been doing? Great to see you here!

For those of you willing to pay, there's an eARC (http://www.webscription.net/p-1289-cryoburn-arc.aspx)! I can't afford it...but I may have bought it and devoured it in a day anyway. Books > food, right? ;)

...Also, spurred on by something Bujold herself reminded us of on the Bujold mailing list, if a Sounisian would like to borrow an eARC of Cryoburn, send me a message.

Well, basically I can send it to you if you give me your e-mail address. It's just that Baen does not forbid you letting friends "borrow" e-books, since it's like you letting them "borrow" a paper book. (For that matter, I also love their Free Library (http://www.baen.com/library/) and promotional CD's (http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com/), and that their e-books aren't protected and every format is included for one price.)

Just knowing there's a new book coming out is helpful--thanks!

AAAAARGH ME! ME!

I accidently read spoilers (not that I care *goes hyper*) and am now of two minds whether I want to read it now or not.

I believe I shall let someone else have it and reread the rest of the books.

::hasn't read spoilers and is now terrified:: (I'll read the book anyway, of course.)

I think I have had this on pre-order since the moment it was announced.

I love love love Miles with a pure mad devotion, but I'd never marry him (not that he'd be interested in me, either, but...) I'd be pushing him out an airlock within a week.

I haven't read any spoilers, but LMB has always said that she plots by imagining the Worst Possible Thing that could happen to her characters, and she's been hinting for years about what's next for her most popular creation.

I shall steel myself and be brave. Cordelia would expect no less of me.

You and [livejournal.com profile] emerald_happy have me very scared, as I'm completely unspoiled, but I'll read anyway, though now with a bit more apprehension.
