This is sort of off topic, but addresses the issue of taking a beloved YA book/book series and making a movie out of it.  Tomorrow When the War Began by John Marsden is the first of a hugely popular Australian book series, and the movie is set in Australia (filmed near Newcastle).  The books were reprinted in the US about 8 years ago.

I thought the video clip did a fabulous job discussing the concerns and difficulty converting a book to a screen play... and those lovely Aussie accents are fun to listen to, just all on their own  : )

I've always wanted to watch a movie or tv show being filmed. While it would sort of ruin ever really losing yourself in the story--since you'd watched it all chopped up into scenes, and filmed out of order--it would be fascinating to see. It looks like they've done a great job on the movie. And I TOTALLY agree about the accents of awesome.

I just showed this book to a kid yesterday, and he checked it out. I was all like, "WHY DOES EVERYONE INSIST ON READING HUNGER GAMES READ THIS INSTEAD," and he was all like, "...yes m'am." :)
