Of NaNo, apps, goats and Gen

During last month, I once again discovered how horrible it is to do NaNoWriMo and college applications at the same time. Being a transfer student is really annoying.
I started going a bit crazy towards the end of the month, but I went more than a bit mad when Gen hijacked a scene from my NaNo story. The scene was supposed to go like this: Alyssa accidentally left the gate to the goat pen open. The goat wandered out, managed to get inside the house and started eating Eneles's papers. Eneles was naturally Not Pleased.

However, when Gen jumped in, it ended up like this:

Gen: Costis. I need you to contain the goat.
Costis: Goat? What goat?
Gen: The goat in the palace that's been eating everything in its path.
Costis: How did it get into the palace?
Gen: It walked.
Costis: .....    [a pause] .....   [another pause]
Gen: Someone neglected to check that the gate was latched.
Costis: Surely there's no rush. How much damage can a goat do?
Gen: It nibbled my attendants awake, managed to get into the Queen's closet before Phresine shooed it out, chewed on some random furniture, ate most of your notes on the Mede language, munched on some unusual documents, and was starting on my documents before my attendants burst in after its blood.
Costis: My notes....
Gen: It's not as bad as this set of documents. [points to chunks of wad on the floor] I don't know what it was. You, at least, have some of your notes.
Me: [magically appears on the scene] Wait a minute...
Gen: [rubbing a bit of paper] This paper's unusual. Thinner and smoother than ours and unnaturally white. The ink and writing are unusual too.
Me: Oh my gosh, that's my UC application.
Gen: [looks my way] Pardon?
Me: You let the goat eat my college application?! AHHHHHHHH!    ;A;
[insert funny looks from Gen and Costis]
Gen: Costis?
Costis: My king?
Gen: The goat.
Costis: On it, sir.




Anyone else recently have Gen invading their lives? :D
