queensthief the sketchbook assignment was snow.
this is clearly not snow.
obviously a few things need fixing (attolia's eyes! gen's face is uneven!) but mostly, before i scrap these/work more on them, i have a few (read: many) questions (and a few comments).
1) i kinda hate how attolia turned out. she's pretty, but she's not beautiful. also, the curve of her cheek needs fixing. also, she looks like amalthea, from the last unicorn. but i've practically ruined the paper erasing, i do have a lovely fox news rant (irrelevant, i realise) on the back that i would wish to preserve. plus, my poor moleskine's been ripped from more than enough times.
2) irene: curly hair? straight hair? what do you guys think?
3) peplos: mwt does mention people wearing them, but this particular one (that i've drawn) is awful and makes her look broad-shouldered. :/ what are some period-appropriate pieces? (this goes for gen, too, i've put him in a poet shirt. dreadfully inaccurate, but i don't know much about the byzantines.)
4) i actually love how gen turned out, and i know he's got darker skin, so that's gonna happen sometime after i finish him (if i ever do) and a scar (no idea where that's located, though the cover to koa says right cheek? is this accurate? i was never big on physical descriptions and i have an awful inability to picture characters). he looks dreadfully young, though.
5) headband. headband. bad headband. why can't attolia wear a diadem like other hellenistic rulers? :(
