I think this was a close one, Sounsians, but Ring of Solomon has indeed won the SLJ's Battle of the Kids Books.

Richard Peck's wrap-up.

Oh, and don't miss Megan being witty in the comments.

Woe! Sadness!
*arm falls off*
*heads home to eat brains*

I hear brains are a delicacy in some zombie cultures, Mrs. Turner. ;D

*drowns out sorrows with brains icecream*

Well I suppose I now have a new series to read until the next book comes out, Megan! :-)

On the other hand, I wonder if things may have gone differently *had* Richard Peck read the entire series...

What about brain-flavored ice cream? I imagine it would be a greyish-purple color.

Well, Bartimaeus is pretty awesome. I'm down with this. I was thinking more and more about the importance of fun, and Ring of Solomon is a little less Of the Awesome than Conspiracy of Kings, but it is a lot more fun. If CofK had to lose to something, I'm glad that this was it.

Have my brains. I'm not using them, and you need yours. You know, for your writing? And mine are chock full of stuff. Kind of hoarder brains, in a way. Stuff piled up all over the place, can't find anything...

This comment was meant to be directed to Ms Turner. I don't know how to reply directly, apparently. Hmmm...

Yes, mwt definitely needs her brains, and I'm sure there's definitely half of my brains that are not being used..

AHAHAHAHA!!!! Wish I'd thought of a fancy toothpick! You can tell you're still using half of your brain!

*goes chuckling off to sleep*
