This sounds like it was lots of fun, & I wish I could've been there.

If Eddis & Attolia organized one of these [or maybe delegated--to whom?], what kinds of speakers & panelists do you suppose they'd come up with?

"I'm Not Telling" vs. "Ve haff vays of making you write": how to t/o/r/t--persuade Our Favorite Author to let us in on all kinds of cool stuff. Warning: chocolate may be involved. Moderator: Relius, Heckler-at-Large: Attolis.

Alrighty, if Helen and Irene organized a convention, it would be a convention of women with power. Unfortunately, I think Heckler-at-large Attolis would have a bit of a heckling disadvantage since at the end of the day he would have to answer to his wife, who, by virtue of being the organizer of this convention, we can tell is a very powerful and imposing woman. I think that in this case, Mr. Heckler-at-Large Attolis would be knocked off his heckling throne by a number of Mede Ambassadors that I could name (but not spell.) Of course, they would all be oozing insults about 'superficial beauty' and 'excessive pretensions at intelligence' and 'you're a woman you wouldn't understand.' Fortunately, the queens have a secret weapon against these hecklers, the King of Sounis. Mr. "the queen of Eddis is more beatiful than the day and as brilliant as the sun in the sky" would come immediately to their defense, and, of course, Medean Ambassadors are suitably wary of the King of Sounis.

Wow, that was a long comment ;) Fun!

Well I think Irene would host a panel on how to control a country with fractitious barons, Relius would help, and heckler-at-large Attolis would try to drag his cousin who is Eddis along to try to convince her that her methods are not the only way. Sophos would attend the panel, and would hope to find out from heckler-at-large Attolis how to do it any other way. (Though of course, Gen wouldn't have any real information, he is NOT an expert on that topic.)

I think Irene should also host a panel about fashion, she could have Phresine as a panelist, and Helen would have to go to learn about better fashions, and how not to be bullied by her attendents. (She would have to drag her attendants along so they could get the information too!) Heckler-at-large Attolis would show up to make commentary about everybodies clothes, and I think he would eventually have to be escorted out of the room for making to much commentary. (Though he would probably get plenty of punishment at home that night, as Irene would most likely give him the cold shoulder for a month for that behavior :-)

Thanks for the fun post!!

Ah, yes, how could I forget Gen's penchant for yellow?? He would wear that color throughout the whole conference so it would be easy to distinguish him!!

I love this idea - Helen could sure use the help, she's fashion deprived!

But you know, Gen would probably want to be a panelist too, since he's such an fashion expert....But as long as he's not a panelist, he'll just have to settle for stealing those articles of clothing that he doesn't approve of, and all the while he would be saying, ever so earnestly, "I would never steal from you!" (see icon!)

He would claim that he was just one of the backstage hands helping to set up the table, and how could such hideous items/combinations be part of the presentation??

(OR he would just play dumb - "What outfit??")

Well, since Eddis is a person of such culture & refinement, she'd never own unfashionable couture

Ummmm...Of course she wouldn't....In fact I'm quite sure she wouldn't.....After all, who could be badly dressed with a cousin like Gen to look after them?! lol

Anything Gen takes is obviously planted by malicious persons of bad taste or gossipmongers, so by taking ugly clothes, Gen is heroically rescuing his [former] queen from enemies, artistic & otherwise.

Exactly!! So it wouldn't really be stealing, after all.
(Gen is just soo thoughtful!)

she's fashion deprived

Can she pick a matching shirt and pants out of the same vat of dye??

I think Helen has issues with color AND style! Remember the orange scarf and the the ruby(except they were really garnets) pin? That's pretty conspicuous...Gen didn't like that either! And then there was the dress that made her look like a peahen dressed up in her smaller husbands clothes...Ouch!

Poor Helen has got a LOT of fashion problems - not the least of which is her attendants ;)
