I hope I'm doing this right... Anyways, hi! I'm RLDSky, and I've been lurking for a while. I just got into Megan Whalen Turner's books last year, but I absolutely adore them! Eugenides has got to be one of my favourite male characters ever. (As you may tell from my spelling, I'm a proud Canuck! :D) I can't wait to get involved in all the conversations; I don't really have anyone in my day-to-day life to talk with about the books.

Also, I love to write, so as a sort of hello-gift, I offer you this fanfic of mine (there will be fan art following at some point, as well):

I started out not having anyone outside this community to discuss the series with (though I've lassoed many of my friends into it since)... but the amazing thing about that is how many friendships I've developed after the initial discovery that someone else had read the series too. It's not like, "Oh yeah I grew up waiting for the next Harry Potter book too". It's something special, out of the ordinary, that sets that person apart, and you're no longer strangers to each other if you've both been tricked by Eugenides and screamed at Attolia when she did what she did and then later allowed Gen to convince you to love her anyway and...

Thanks! And I totally know what you mean! :) I have a penpal in the States, and I totally freaked out when I learned that she'd read the series and loved them, too. It was like, "We're kindred spirits!" :D

It's great to find a group of people who share QT, and enjoy taking it apart bit by bit. And they're just the greatest group of people!!

BTW, I really enjoy fics about what happened on their wedding night, and I like the part where he ways he will be her royal pain in the morning. I think he lived up to that and more!! :)
