Sounis field trip?
Apr. 6th, 2012 01:12 am
Paul O Zelinsky (illustrator of Diana Wynne Jones' recently released Earwig and the Witch,) posted a link to a website created to celebrate Diana Wynne Jones, put in place for the first anniversary of her death. An invitation has been extended for readers and fans to contribute. So, why don't you bookmark your place in Howl's Moving Castle...I'll finish my chapter in Fire and Hemlock...then we can load the Sounis Schoolbus and take a field trip? I'll drive. You bring snacks.

Date: 4/6/12 08:50 pm (UTC)It's hard to believe that a year has passed since we lost Diana Wynne Jones. This spring Diana’s publishers around the world will be jointly remembering her life and work during an online celebration and extravaganza. The official celebration/blog tour starts on April 12 and will run for two weeks. (There will be a physical celebration in Bristol on April 22 -- http://calcifer.co.uk). I've set up a Tumblr at http://dwj2012.tumblr.com/ and it is ready for submissions and for sharing -- if you email me directly, I'll make sure to repost your contribution. The Twitter hashtag is #dwj2012.
Diana was very much an author's author (and a reader's author!) and her books are loved by many. Please help us by sharing this information and this invitation with authors, readers, librarians, teachers, booksellers, and anyone else who is a fan or might become a fan and would like to join the party. They can email me directly, if they like.
Three cheers for Diana!
