Worldwide Meet-Up

queensthiefThe weeping, and wailing and gnashing of teeth has been heard. We know it's not fair that so many of us live in the wrong state or on the "wrong continent" when meet-up opportunities come up. Now, you don't have to wait for MWT to miraculously come to your town to enjoy a Sounis Meet-up. As part of the London ThiefCon, MWT has graciously agreed to take time out of her London trip to hold an International ThiefCon via video conference this Tuesday, April 24th! Time is still TBA, but not to worry. MWT won't let you dangle from her tidy schedule.
I will update the time for the video conference as soon as it can be reliably set. Then,Tuesday I'll post a link her at Sounis. Clicking it will transport you off-continent (outside LJ) to our conference host where you will type in your name, set your camera and microphone, and be ready to broadcast yourself and interact with MWT via video and voice in real time. Five of you at a time will be able to enter the conference while all others who are not broadcasting are able to watch until their turn. Like a big skype with no downloads, no registration. You just show up with your party socks on.
I will be hosting a test conference this Monday, April 23 so Sounisians can test out their equipment and feel comfortable with the conference proceedure.
Don't have a camera and mic? That's ok, you can still come. You can watch the proceedings and interact via chat box on the left hand side of the screen.
Sounisians can post questions they'd like to ask, or topics for discussion right here in the comments and we'll bring them to MWT.

Modest authors never want the internet splashed about with video recordings of themselves being clever and gracious...or saying too much about writerly things. It's a delicate kind of modesty. (Honestly, I don't think I'd want a video of myself out there either.) I selected this video conference host specifically for MWT's privacy, knowing she wouldn't want it recorded and distributed. She's gone so far out of her way to do this, I want her to be comfortable knowing it won't be recorded by three hundred of her closest friends.
