We are a GO for our Sounis video conference with MWT! this Tuesday, April 24. Still waiting on a precise time, but it will probably be after 4pm EST, that's 1pm pacific, 9pm in London, 10pm UTC add an -ish to that because I still need to confirm MWT's scheduleAnd did I mention...

Giveaways of epic Queen's Thief artifacts and MWT's works. Yes, that's Gen's oil lamp from the temple in The Thief. And the King's seal ring engraved with, what else, a goat. A highly coveted copy of the short Thief!story from Disney Adventures Magazine...signed. You could take home your choice of MWT works, signed, just for walking through the virtual door.
Look at it as me buttering you up so you won't rail me for the short notice or the hazy timeframe. Giveaways always make folks so amiable! And I've been looking forward to meeting so many of you, getting a chance to get together as a community and talk about some of the things we love most with the people we most admire.
So I hope you liberate your socks and your schedules, come check back for a definite time as I'm able to iron out details. Message your friends in Sounis who may not check in often.

Practice run will be Monday, April 23 7pm Est, 4pm pacific, midnight London, 11pm UTC. I'll post the link to the meeting in a new post a few minutes before start time. Come see your Sounis friends and get comfortable with the intuitive, simple program we'll be using.
See you then!

*Edit*

I was going to say that I'm a denizen of Eastern Time, so evening would be better for me... and then I realized that I have a book thing to go to after work which would preclude my attendance until like, 8:00 pm, which I'm sure is convenient for absolutely no one. Is there any chance earlier in the day would amenable for others? 12:00 pm EST, perhaps? [insert hopes and prayers here] [no pressure]

I'm Central Standard Time, but my schedule is still so up in the air at this point that I'm going to be playing it by ear regardless of when it happens, so.

In case you're still looking for topics for discussion, I came up with a couple writerly ones (after resigning myself to the fact that asking questions like, "WHERE IS COSTIS?" and "What elephant?" is futile). Feel free to use or discard them as you see fit.

1) To what extent does MWT outline? (I'm at the point where my instructor has me outlining everything down to the last detail, while past the point where I felt I could get on with writing the story. For the exercise of it, which I realize is very good practice. But I know it's widely debated among authors - just how much outlining is necessary - and so I'm curious.)

And related to that: 2) Does MWT know precisely where the story is going in following books (as much as she can know before the actual writing of them) and if yes, how long has she known? From the very beginning of The Thief? Or has it developed significantly since then?

Apologies if either of those set foot into "Not Telling" territory. :)

At or after 4 pm, Eastern Standard Time, would work for me. I'm in Ottawa Canada.

About 2:30 EST would be great for me. I hope I'll be able to catch at least some of it!
