Hey all!

Just thought I'd let you know, I was invited by a blogger friend of mine to do a guest review on her site. Of course, what was the very first book I thought of? Well, Queen of Attolia, actually, but it seemed silly to review QoA without reviewing The Thief. So that's what I did!

Here's the link if you all want to see: Guest Post: "The Thief" by Megan Whalen Turner.

I figure the more attention the post gets, the better chance that we can indoctrinate others into MWT rabid fandom. Bwahahahaha!!!

Also, the blogger in question (Auggie) is awfully nice, and I'm sure she'd love a bump in her stats.

Thanks!

Shelver

"I love him to the tips of his soft-soled shoes."

Ha, I love that! :)

After reading the review I was thinking fondly back to the first time I read The Thief and how "Useless the Younger" became Sophos who became Sounis. Quite an expected character arc. I just love that boy.

I'm curious: Why do you recommend the series for fans of Horatio Hornblower? I mean, it sounds all right to me because I'm a fan of both, but I wouldn't necessary think to link the two. I'm intrigued.

I saw this yesterday! Loved this line:

The first section of the book is not an adventure-filled treasure hunt. It is a knowledge hunt dripping with insight and sarcasm...

And this one:

Do you know what else MWT is a master of? Twists. Big, honking', blow-my-mind twists.

Nice!

This was an excellent review, intriguing and enticing, yet not at all spoilerish. Well done!
