queensthiefI've been meaning to post about this for a while. The recent talk of a Sounis twitter reminded me again!
So, a few months ago I noticed there was no Queen's Thief blog on tumblr. (For those who haven't experienced tumblr, it's a social media platform that lets you blog and reblog images, videos, writing, quotes, etc in simple way. It's less of a discussion medium, which is what I love about livejournal, and more of a platform for looking at and squeezing over little reminders of things one likes.)
So anyway, I went and made one: HellenEddis.tumblr.com It's pretty small, but I've been having fun with it so far.
I guess I wanted to know what Sounis thinks. *wipes sweat* Positive/negative comments? I named it after Helen because I didn't want to impersonate Attolia on tumblr...lol. I just pictured her spies finding out and hunting me down. But I thought Helen wouldn't disapprove, and she's a great person to have looking over your shoulder, not to mention the ruler of my favourite country. So, it's an Eddisian tumblr. :P
Secondly and most importantly, does anyone want to help?! :) I didn't name this one after Sounis, but if we wanted to, I don't know, make it affiliated, we could change the name or make a new one. Are there other Sounisian tumblr users out there who want to be contributors? Or even have ideas for other tumblr things?
Finally, I would love to blog more fanart, but obviously don't want to without asking permissions. A lot of it is on deviantart but not being a user there, I'm not sure how to approach people. However, there are a lot of stunning artists on Sounis. So before I go around asking people as I come across their stuff (by trawling through the archives :P), if you happen to be reading this and don't mind seeing your art on tumblr (I would credit always always!), let me know?
So yes. Tumblr thoughts?

I follow a few DeviantArtists on Tumblr and it's a very sleek website to view art + thoughts. Thanks for making one especially to complement Sounis!
Unfortunately, I don't do much on Tumblr (except look at pictures), and I'm more on the clueless side, really. Uhm, I've been wondering, how do you comment on stuff? Like, I feel that Tumblr just allows postings and likes and reblogs really easily, but when I happen to like a post, I can never tell the artists how much I like it, because Tumblr doesn't seem to allow comments? It sorta feels a little isolating. (And kind of annoying too)
Anyway, if I manage to figure my way around Tumblr, I think it'd be a really, really, really nice place for us Sounisians!

a) reblogging, and adding text. This method does not necessarily mean your comment has been read
b) 'answering' a post by clicking on the speech bubble/typing in the dialogue box below the post. This is only an option if the person to whom you are replying has set the ticky boxes allowing you to do so
Beyond that, you can send personal messages to someone using the ask/fanmail function. Like the aforementioned 'answer' feature, this is not always available. It depends on whatever the settings the tumblr-user has set. Ask and fanmail are two different functions, but I can't for the life of me figure what is different about them beyond the stylistic differences.

Just tell me before or after you've posted them, so that I know. I know it would be unlikely for me to say no if anyone asks, but I do prefer being asked, just to know what kind of exposure my works are getting. =D
Now that I think about it... I *have* a Tumblr account. I should stop being so lazy and post them myself! Hehe.... then you can reblog anytime you want.

I felt it was ok to reblog things that had already been posted, because then I feel it's the original poster's responsibility to ask permission, or I assume the poster is the artist themself. But I guess if that didn't happen, that's not always a good assumption to make... My apologies. :(
You could also become a contributor to the blog and post them yourself! :D *innocently hopes more contributors will come along* And if you post to your blog, I will reblog everything! :)

For example, I wanted to find images from Pixar's upcoming movie 'Brave', but I find the search engine results a bit baffling and random. Am I doing something wrong? And I believe that your blog is actually a few months older. The other one was just recent. The earliest post I can see was posted last week, but I guess it doesn't mean that the actual blog wasn't made before that.
Aaaaannnd, to answer everything in one post, you totally don't need to apologize about the art being there! I'm not upset about it or anything, it's just that I get very surprised when I see my artworks pop up in places I don't expect. I don't mind them being posted elsewhere 'cuz it helps get more views. ^^ (But I do like knowing if it gets more views. ^__^)
