NPR is giving readers a chance to nominate what they consider to be the best young adult novels of all time. You're allowed up to five entries and a series counts as one entry (the example they gave is that you'd nominate the Hunger Games SERIES, not each book one at a time).

Sounisians, I see an opportunity. Go!

Books, is LoEM YA? I'm wondering, because while I'm pretty sure the content is appropriate for most 12 year olds, but for some reason, it's marketed at my bookstore as an "adult" book.

I'm really not sure if I should vote. I don't know enough YA books, I think, and I'm so clearly biased, lol. XD

I think you're right, but I put on my list anyway, because the lines are so blurry...I have seen KoA placed with children's, Teens, and Adults. Same with Eagle of the Ninth and Anne McCaffrey's books which I would NOT recommend for kids.
Books like Ella Enchanted are classified as both Children's and YA. Even the Healing Wars is considered childrens though my library has it as YA. THe Truth Series is in YA at my library and Adult in the bookstore.
I put it there any way because I like it and it needs more fans. I don't know if that's against the rules, but I doubt that it'll be winning any popular votes because of my comment, so the best I can hope for is to get some people to read it!

I would go ahead and vote anyway. I know I'm jaded, but in my opinion my favorites are the best, and other people are voting there opinions, too. At least show Gen some love =D

Funny you mention Eagle of the Ninth. In my bookstore they have the one with the cover of the golden eagle in the kid's section, and the one with the cover of Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell in the teen's section. I can only shake my head, lol, but I have to admit, it's a pretty good marketing strategy.

I'll still have to gather my fives in any case. Though I do see people voting with just one book. At the very least, I think I'll just put in the vote for QT, and leave the rest open.

If people listed their picks here, is there somebody who would tot them all up? I'd be really interested to see how the Sounis Top Picks
compare to NPR's.
