Hi - I'm [profile] deirdrejs sister, and I've been a lurker for awhile, commenting occasionally. I've just joined the community (yay!). And I'd like to share a book review with you! First-time novelist Amanda McCrina is a huge Rosemary Sutcliffe fan, and cites her as an influence. Of course, Megan Whalen Turner does, too. That's one reason why I thought Sounisians might enjoy hearing about Amanda's book. (BTW, I urged Amanda to read the Queen's Thief series, and she gave The Queen of Attolia five stars on goodreads!) My review of His Own Good Sword is here:

It sounds really good--a bit more like Sutcliff than MWT, maybe? Is it an adult book, or YA?

Checkers, I'd say yes more Sutcliff than MWT, but a few overlaps in terms of duty/honor type themes.
