Ghost Stories Contest Fanfic Winner
Nov. 1st, 2012 01:50 pmWell guys, here are the results for the Ghost Stories Fanfic Challenge. Sorry, it took a couple of days, things go busy at work. ^_^;
So, here are the results:
1st Place: Believe- booksrgood4u
2nd Place: The Ghost of Old Eddis- Shadowgirlvg
3rd Place: Stone Fox: A Ghost Story - deirdrej
Congrats to everyone!
openedlocket is working on your banners so expect them soon.
Also, here's a mini annoucement. Last year, many of you will probably recalled that I held the first Queen's Thief Secret Santa event and it was a ton of fun. However, I won't be holding it this year due to I'm expecting to have a very busy holiday and thus won't have time to run it.
With that said, if anyone here wants to take over this year you are more than welcome to. You can even use the
qt_secretsanta community to run it. If someone did take over, I would be more than happy to take part in it. I just don't have the time to actually run it.

Date: 11/2/12 01:08 pm (UTC)Basically, what I do, you make a post for people to sign up, then try to match up people to their secret santas (there are online secret santa generators that I've used), email them each and tell them who they're making a gift to, make another post later on for people to leave their names to receive their gifts and keeping up to make sure that everyone has gotten their gift.
If someone isn't able to produce a gift then you either have to take on doing the gift yourself or finding a pitch-hitter, which is basically a person that doesn't mind making an extra last minute gift. (I had a question if a person would mind being a pitch-hitter as part of the form people fill out to sign-up for secret santa.) Then of course answering questions and helping people if they're having problems uploading their gift for their giftee to receive.
Granted, there could be a different style in doing it, and if there is that's fine. This is just how I've been doing it. If you're interested in doing it, let me know and I'll let you have moderator access to the secret santa community that you can use.

I just wanted to thank you for holding the contest and extend congratulations to the winners (I mean the other winners). It was fun!
Secret Santa sounds like an awesome idea -- I gather it's just online gifts of some stripe? How does it work?
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everybody, and I'll be checking in again as soon as I can.
