A couple of random links you may like:

If you are missing Diana Wynne Jones, here is a DWJ Comment Ficathon, and breaking news about an upcoming book that even Virginia the Publisher apparently wasn't aware of.

Plus, if you are in the market for an audiobook of Lois McMaster Bujold's most recent Vorkosigian series book, Captain Vorpatril's Alliance (which I am rereading, right now!) it is on sale for $9.99.

I'm so excited to hear about the unpublished DWJ book! What a great story, and a great tribute, for her sister to finish it for us. Thanks for sharing the news!

Checks, your music is aptly chosen.

I got to be in London last year for DWJ's Celebtation of Life. Her sister, Ursula, read the first chapter of the work in progress at the time of her passing.

First of all, Ursula Jones can read me bedtime stories any time...I want her for my own personal Narrator-in-the-hip-pocket.

Secondly, my whole soul wants this to be the story released next year. Ursula, and DWJ, left us literally in a dark hole at the cusp of magic. I feel like I've been crouching at the cellar door with our scrappy heroine, waiting to see if the magic is truly on the other side waiting to reveal itself.

Lastly, I used last month's Audible credit on Warrior's Apprentice. Halfway through and having So Much Fun.
My, aren't you a wealth of good news? You've made my heart happy with you off-topicness.

Checkers! WSK idea! Recent/not-out-yet books are great, but it would be fun to discuss our favorite books that are now in the public doman, i.e. those published before 1923. Just a thought. :-)
