Coming Soon - Two CA Meet Ups!

Sort of like "Megan Does California" but in a bookish, literary way.  Megan is giving us details about two meetups, one an organized panel open to the public, and the second a smaller You-Have-to-Know-the-Secret-Sounis-Handshake kind of one. Or wear a forked red beard. Or something.  Use your imagination.

Details:

I’m going to be at Kepler’s Books in Menlo Park on Monday, 29 June at 7:00 pm with
Elizabeth Fama, Stephanie Keuhn, Rebecca Hahn and perhaps Tamara Stone Ireland.
and I’d love to see Sounisians there.  It’s going to be a bit of a cocktail with a little
bit of a panel and a lot of standing around chatting with whoever shows up.  In that
way, it’s very much like our usual get-togethers, but it might be more organized and chatting
might be more limited than usual for our Mini-Thief Cons. I’ve advertised it on my tumblr and
I will try to post about it at least a couple more times between now and then.

However.

I am also going to be at an old school Sounis Meet Up with a couple of Bay Area
librarians and fans in the Yerba Buena Gardens right across from Moscone Center where
they are holding ALA at 2:00 pm on Saturday June 27.

I met Angela from Keplar's at Book Expo America this year! It sounds like an absolute dream of a bookstore.

Of course, I'll still be in New York during this meetup - but is there any chance Megan might be open to an event around San Diego Comic-Con time? (Or is just my luck and Megan will be in New York when I fly across the country to California? No joke, this happened with JK Rowling once. Except it was Edinburgh and Orlando. But same idea.)

Blah. It's been too long without a Megan Whalen Turnery anything. I'm trying to find the will to live, basically. I need a shot in the arm or somethin'! Somebody, please go and do a magicsandwiches-esque write-up! Please! I am desperate!

Oh, man. I'm an eight-hour drive away, but I don't have any plans that weekend and my Friday night is all clear for driving... I'm considering this. There's the slight chance a friend I wanted to see six hours in a different direction wouldn't be able to meet up the weekend prior and I'd visit her that weekend instead, but I don't know yet. Ahhhh. Planning is difficult. I'll try to take some photos and notes of what we talk about if I do go!
