Exactly! And it's the smallest things that trigger that fresh-stabbed feeling. I think my heart's turning into a pincushion; how about you? Have you had lots of clean-up & administration to do? I'm an only child, so it all falls to the lawyerspouse & me.

Oh, poor thing. That would certainly make everything more difficult. I'm so fortunate--my mom is still living and she and my dad have lived with my sister for a few years. So, no, I have not had to deal with any of that terribly sad stuff (yet) and knowing my mom has company and support is such a relief.

I'm glad your parents are in a good place. Make sure they have their wills & such in place, & everyone can relax & enjoy life.

Life is never all one thing. I thought I'd be grieving more, but this weekend is GaFilk [our local filk con]. I spent 2 days before the con showing visitors from across the country the sights, then had lots of errands to run for a friend who couldn't make it [the sound guy, a crucial character; it took 4 to replace the soundboard one obsessive usually does]. A guy from Sweden came; if he can get his plan together, I'll probably run him around tomorrow.

By then, the swapping sites [book-, cd-, & dvd-] will be active again, so there will, goodness knows, be no lack of things to do. Then there's Conflikt[.org] at the end of the month, & just last night my hunky hubby finalized that we're going to ConDFW for Valentine's. [It's one way to avoid book acquisition. :)]

Hugs to you, too. [Oh, my usual crass tip for ladies of a certain age: if you're going to boo-hoo, make sure you're sitting on the throne in the room of rest. That way, when you blow your nose, there's no risk of wetting your pants.]
