requiescat in pace
Jan. 14th, 2016 12:38 pmLong before he embodied Severus Snape in Harry Potter, my tiny 6-year-old heart was majorly crushed and forever shaped by his portrayal of Colonel Brandon in Sense & Sensibility. (My family teased me about this for years.) (Also, one of our dogs may or may not be named Brandon because of it.) Alas, this dashes any hopes I might've had for one day seeing him cast as our beloved Magus, but he'll live on as such in my imagination.
I'm so very sad. What a legend. RIP, Alan Rickman. <3

Date: 1/21/16 02:12 am (UTC)(It's mostly because when we watched Sense and Sensibility, we thought it was hilarious how Colonel Brandon abruptly leaves after walking in with his horsewhip and my brother called them "car keys of the Victorian era", which automatically made him much cooler than Willoughby. Also, Charlotte Palmer calling Willoughby "insufferable" and needing to plant some "very tall trees" to block his house from sight and Thomas Palmer's (Dr. House) dull "You'll do nothing of the sort".
Also, we agreed that Colonel Brandon is probably the best man to appear in whole book. And against all the men in Pride and Prejudice.)
