So, I was watching some book reccomendation videos on YouTube, and after wading through several videos I had a thought. Why don't I look for people who will recommend the QT series, and see what else they also recommend, since they are obvs my kind of peeps. Anyway, one interesting video I found was this one (link below.) I will also copy/paste the list of books she recs. Anyone else read these? What do you think of them? If you have not read them, which ones catch your fancy?

2. Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
1. The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater

As for myself, so many people commented on the Raven Cycle series that I will pick up a copy at my library and see what the fuss is about.

I have read Golden Son, and it's really exciting. Very dark, and the plot twists get a bit exhausting about 3/4s of the way through, but definitely second the recommendation. I've read other Rainbow Rowell, but Carry On really didn't interest me, since it's fanfic of fake Harry Potter, and I don't really enjoy real Harry Potter. :)

This Raven Cycle keeps poking it's head out of the pie (sorry... that's blackbirds). I'll have to check that out.

I haven't read Carry On yet but Rainbow Rowell is the most inappropriate author to write wizard fantasy, which is the whole point of Carry On, so it should be entertaining. I actually have it sitting on my nightstand. Must read it soon as I adored Fangirl and really liked Eleanor & Park and Attachments. Also, start with Fangirl before you read Carry On or it really won't make much sense, and you'll just think she's ripping off Harry Potter. Which I guess she is... but that's the point... Ah, read Fangirl and you'll understand.

You'll want to tackle Red Rising before Golden Son, but then you can also read Morning Star, the third book in the trilogy (you lucky thing - no agonizing wait time between books for you). I believe a second trilogy has been planned that will follow up with stray plot threads of the first three books.

I adore the Raven Cycle and Maggie Stiefvater has become one of my favorite authors. She has a very distinctive voice. Her Scorpio Races is also one you might want to check out.

Station Eleven is fabulous--one of my favorites from last year. It's one of those books I just couldn't stop thinking about after I was finished with it.
