Discussion Leads Needed for "The Thief" Read-along

The community wide read-along and discussion to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Thief is a go!

The read-along will begin September 3rd, so get ready crack open one of your many copies of The Thief and join Gen on his first adventure.

If you'd like to sign-up to be a discussion lead, please email me at ninedaysaqueenmod@gmail.com.

If you plan to only be a participant in the discussion, no sign-ups are required. Just show up to the party! :)

The deadline to sign-up is midnight Sunday, August 21st, inorder to give the lead for week one plenty of time to prepare a post. It's first come, first serve, so sign-up soon if you'd like a spot.

Offcial assignments will be emailed to volunteers Monday the 22nd.

Ah, I'm so excited for this!! I'm super tempted to sign up as a discussion lead, but as I'm preparing to go back to school, I'm not entirely sure if I'll be able to handle it. =( But I'll definitely try to participate in the discussions!

Oh, /do/ sign up! I'm doing my CPD assessments as well as working and I've volunteered. It sounds like there'll be enough of us discussing that the Lead won't have to do very much... :)

Correct. There was over a dozen people interested in participating, and I'm sure more will join in as we move along. The lead is mostly responsible for getting things going. It's an added bonus if you can also reply to comments and help foster more discussion.

I may have a suggestion... I'd prefer to assign two people to week four, because it's 20 pages longer than any other section. Assigning a much larger section to just one person seems a little unfair to me... so...

I already have someone interested in week four, so if you'd like to be the second person leading week four that might work better for you. Plus, your post wouldn't be due till September 24th, further into the school year.
