Hello! + ARC

Hello Sounis! I'm a long time reader of the series and a long-time lurker here, and finally decided to create an LJ account to post. I first read The Thief when I was 14-15, rediscovered it (and discovered the existence of QoA/KoA) in college, read CoK a little while after it came out, and since then I've revisited the series every 1-2 years and lurked here sporadically for many years. I have really enjoyed the many discussions here over those years.

Anyway, the reason why I officially made an account + joined this community for reals is -
I was lucky enough to win one of the Thick as Thieves ARCs from the Goodreads giveaway. I've read it once and am now reading it a second time, but I would love to pass it on to someone else in this community when I'm done. I know there are plenty of people here who would appreciate it far more than anyone I know in real life, and I would love to give something back to a community that has really enhanced my reading experience of these books.

So! I'm going to do the same thing that bookaddict88 did last month and send my copy to one random member of the community. So, if you'd like the ARC, say so in the comments within the next week (i.e. by March 17). I'll pay for US shipping, but will ship internationally if you cover most of the cost (I'll contribute a few dollars towards international shipping as well). I think that's it!

Also, if there is a secret subgroup of people here who've read the new book and are discussing it, I would love to know where it is so I can join in.

EDIT: So I just decided to go get lost in the desert this weekend (there are wildflowers!) and I probably won't get to doing the draw till Monday, so I'll take last-minute entries till Sunday the 19th.

I'm so glad this has gone up again. I am definitely planning to forward the one I won as well, but I have six friends that I got started on the series and they would probably ganch me if I did not pass it to them first. It is currently in the mail making its way to Friend #2, so we're making good time (minus the week I lost when it had arrived but I was on vacation)!

I too want a secret subgroup but in the meantime if you want to talk about it my inbox is open! :D

That is so generous of you! I love this idea and totally want to get in on it.

I had the similar feeling when I first joined as well. I had a question about the book, I knew it had probably already been covered but wanted to talk about it. Especially since none of my friends could be bothered to read it. (P.s. Finally got a friend to read QOA after a year - next step KOA - wish me luck). But the community was so welcome and so happy to see that other people were taking an interest. It was if they found this unlimited treasure and just wanted everyone to know about it, and share that with one another.
