This was just announced.  The Horn Book (a very prestigious journal that reviews children's and young adult books) has named The King of Attolia one of only 12 Best Books of 2006!!!

On another note...

An action-packed plot and an irresistible hero (equal parts vulnerable lover and calculating conqueror) combine for a suspenseful, psychologically mesmerizing fantasy.

...that is the most awesome description of Gen I have ever read. I bow to the superior summary skillz of whoever wrote that. *applauds*
