Date: 5/19/18 06:31 am (UTC)Anyways, I fell asleep to Kamet talking about Costis wrestling and was JOLTED awake by Kamet screaming about the Namreen. If you haven't listened to West's narration, he does this terrified screaming/wailing voice. I legit for a split second thought the Namreen were after me! So, beware of falling asleep hearing about hunky Attolians and being scared awake by Namreen!
(1) We get our first taste of Kamet and Costis bickering in the lion's cave. I do love how Kamet in pain is much more willing to speak his mind. And the hug! Ah, Costis is so sweet.
(2) I liked how Costis called Kamet's chain, which is essentially a collar, a necklace once in there. High five for sensitive Costis!
(3) Kamet really puts himself down a lot in this section every time a physical challenge comes up. Like, dude... I wouldn't expect you, a secretary, to keep up with a trained solider. There's no way! Costis is going to have to slow down for you. I'm sure he doesn't mind. You're doing fine!
(4) I can't believe how long it took me to realize Costis's berserk button was the severed hand. That's why he killed the slavers!

Date: 5/26/18 09:39 pm (UTC)Regarding Ornon as Attolia's ambassador in TaT: Do you think Attolia could have sent him as its ambassador before Eddis was sworn to Attolis? I think this would have been diplomatically iffy, and that all of TaT may have taken place after the marriage of Helen and Sophos. But I am a little ambivalent about this analysis, since it would seem to add quite a bit to the timeline.
