Fan Casts?

I’m wondering who you guys would cast as some of the leads. I personally would like to see Suraj Sharma as Gen, Ruth Negga as Eddis, and Emma Watson as Attolia ❤️

Hmm. Maybe it's just because I really don't like Watson's acting (though she could have the right look, given makeup and costuming and lighting), but I would want someone a bit older-feeling. I know Watson's actually 30, but I am hoping for someone who feels 30.

Yes to your first two suggestions (I hadn't thought of Ruth Negga for Eddis before, good call) but nay on Emma Watson. It's not that I dislike her, she just plays every character the same way, and doesn't work for me as Irene. I'd prefer Katie McGrath or Rachel Weisz. I don't know if their ages work - but I'd rather see the role given to someone a little more mature than someone too young, and I agree that there's something eternally teen-ish about Emma, or at least her acting.

Suraj Sharma certainly has the right coloring but I wonder if he is a little too...pretty? I do like Ruth Negga for Eddis. For some reason, I'll always have a young Angelina Jolie in my head as Attolia. She's so beautiful but strikes me as a little scary. Emma Watson is just so Hermione!

I definitely appreciate that you didn't cast white people as Gen and Eddis. And I may not be a big fan of hers but I see where you can see Emma Watson as Attolia!

I agree with the first two, but have to concur with others that Emma Watson just doesn't work for me. I can't ever unsee her as Hermione, and I have to say that I don't think she's....that...great...as an actress? Yeah, she has emphatic facial expressions, but I never see her truly sink into a role the way greater actresses do.

I've thought that Channing Tatum would make a good Costis after seeing him play a Roman soldier in the Eagle of the Ninth movie.
