Eugenides in a boat with Attolia, floating down the Royal River (North Yarmouth, Maine). Seems fitting.

This is my original copy of QoA, much loved as you can tell from the worn edges.

The river had just had some minor flooding, as I could tell from the muddy streaks on branches and leaves three feet above the water. Look how brown the water is here:

I'm including that picture anyway, because look! Can you see it in the background?

And thank you for including your photo. I was beginning to think that there was some unwritten rule in this group about never showing your face.

I really hope I can make it to Maine someday. (Speaking of, for those who haven't read it, July is the perfect time to start Cordelia Underwood - the first book in the Moosepath League series by Van Reid.)

I've read the first Cordelia Underwood book! It was a lot of fun, and someday I'll get to the rest of the series.

What a great idea! Beautiful river and landscape and also very thematically appropriate.
Back when I was 15-16, my family and I were on a holiday, and we went sightseeing, one day, we were at this little old castle or villa that was build in this classical style so that it looked all like a greek temple. It was summertime, it was in a little valley with those hills all around, and there were sheeps EVERYWHERE. And I thought to myself, have I wandered through a interdimensional portal straight into Eddis? HELL YES. I started furiously taking pictures with the intention of sending them to best friend, who I had just recently converted to the cult of our Lady and Saviour MWT. (That never happened, but that's a whole different story.) I know wholeheartedly regret not taking the actual books there, because that would have been perfect. Why am I telling you all this? I guess the moral of this story is ... uhm ... always take the QT books with you at all times? Yes, thats it!
