Feeling nostalgic, I went digging in the archives and found my first post (https://sounis.livejournal.com/63111.html?view=comments#comments) Gosh, almost 14 years! It was interesting to see who is still on LJ and whose names have lines drawn through them because they've left. I hope everybody comes back to discuss the last book.

Maybe I'll go through and read the entire archive...

I joined in 2009 so I was still a lurker at this point, but oh, do these old threads bring back happy recollections.

Some of those old usernames have made reappearances on discord over the last few weeks and there have been squeals of recognition and reunion. :)

But Sounis will always be home.

I've been so nostalgic lately too! I went and found posts about the meetups I went to in 2010 and 2011. Such good times.

Fwiw, I have had at least four other accounts/usernames over the years (not to mention the many times I channeled anonymous) because for whatever reason, remembering my login here has been my personal Achilles heel. So maybe some of the names with lines drawn through are still lurking around. It has been delightful to see familiar names popping up again on different social media accounts as well as here.

I first heard about the group in 2007 right after I'd gotten married to the individual who introduced me to the Queen's Thief series. My participation has been erratic at best, but Sounis has been my go-to for QT news/discussions/book recommendations for basically the entirety of my adult life and as much fun as other places for discussion are, Sounis will always be the heart/center of the fandom for me.

I don’t know when I joined...2007, maybe? I’m a consistent lurker.

I was reading your first post and I can't remember how many epiphanies I've forgotten over the years, and each time I relearn them again I'm like "I missed that this reread, MWT is brilliant"

-EmpMai2, who is EmpMai, but joined Sounis such a lifetime ago that I no longer remember, or have, whatever email address I signed up with and LJ wanted me to reconfirm my email address earlier this month.

Sounis will always by my Attolis' Eddis. Even if LJ burns in a Volcanic eruption

I found this site while following a blogger who loves these books too, and had a link to here from her site. I lurked for a while before joining so have only been officially here since 2017.

I had fun going back through some of the earlier posts and plan to visit more of them after my zoom meeting with the Master Gardeners tonight (which I really don’t feel like attending).
And a comment about the age of members here, relative to the link above...I think I am one of the older ones. I read The Thief when it first came out (I was working in a library, my favorite job ever!) And I was...ahem...40ish then.

...Does that make Tumblr Attolia, and Discord Sounis?

Hmmm,
I think it makes Attolia Discord (as Discord is my new place to chill in) and Tumbler real Sounis, (as Tumbler is more a place that I rarely visit, and I don't see Gen visiting real Sounis alot.)

It was poignant to see Philia...I so enjoyed both her posts and comments here and meeting her up in Boston (we met in a bookstore that turned out to have nowhere to sit, so me and MWT and Philia and two other people occupied the floor of an aisle in the children's section; I helped one customer find a shark book for his son, which made me feel I was paying my floor rent....)

I seem to have joined in 2006, but mostly could never remember my login info when I wanted to contribute. sigh.
