Envoy short story

A British friend of mine brought it to my attention that the story at the end of my hardback copy of TaT was not in her British copy. It's at the very end and it's titled, "Envoy." It's super short, but I thought you all might like to read it if you haven't. I've added it to the Short Story post, and you can read it here.

You have to be a member of the sounis community to read the short stories.

Edited to add: the story IS in all versions of the book; my friend was mistaken.

I didn't even realize Envoy wasn't just part of the book until I found it on a short story list. It flows really seamlessly.

Same here. I had assumed it was just part of the book until I saw the folks at the discord site had posted it as a short story. But, as I added above, it IS in all versions on TaT, so it really is more like part of the book.

Since it's not officially part of the book, what is the timeline does it happen immediately after TaT? Or a few weeks/months later?

Not sure, Empmai. What do you think? I guess it would make sense that, once the Medes knew Melheret had not convinced Kamet to come back they would recall him home.
