For those who couldn't be at the Virtual Book Launch last night, here's a thrown-together document with the topics and some answers. Also some non-answers!

It was a fun hour and a half, with NO SPOILERS for RotT. There were no cameras or audio for the guests, but a VERY active backchat window on the side, and it was wonderful to see so many sounis people there, both past and present, with some fun in-jokes.

Oh thank you SO MUCH for doing this, I spent the whole time just gazing at my screen in enraptured delight and immediately afterward regretted not taking notes. What a gift she gave us last night! I’m so grateful to have been able to be there from so far away.

This is wonderful, thank you so much for taking notes! I was so absorbed in devouring the book that I passed on the event, and then regretted it when I heard how wonderful it had been.

Timezone trouble and an announcement

I wanted to come, you know. I really did. I even set my alarm to 6 in the morning. I even woke up. Then I thought to myself, having fallen asleep only hours ago, "the other sounis chats always went on for 4 hours or so, surely it wont hurt if I sleep for another 30 minutes, right?" I'm sure you can figure out how well that plan went XD.

This seems like a good place to announce that I wont be around here (much) In the following 2-3 months. I wont read the new book right away - I'm not ready yet, because of some issues in my life right now that would overshadow the enjoyment to much. I am, however planning on getting it for christmas, so you know when you can (probably) expect me back. I was planning at first to make a post, but then I realized that that would be pretty attention whor-ish of me, since everyone is preocupied with the book right now and its not like I'm one of the fandom high priests, after all.
So yeah, love you all (I'm serious, this fandom is a gem) and see you!

We will miss you, but understand how life just gets in the way sometimes. Please come back and join us after you've had time to read the book, and we'll have lots of great discussion fodder!

I haven't been to Discord in my attempt to avoid spoilers but feel free to share mine there, too, if there's any need. Hopefully you got the first 20 minutes, which I missed taking notes during simply because of my delight in being there.

I'll be happy to pass that along. The admin have set up a pretty good system for avoiding spoilers as much as possible (multiple channels for general spoilers tagged by book/chapter, one chapter at a time discussion, etc) and a group of members have actually created an offshoot group for those who've finished to discuss spoilers freely in without people having to mute channels, etc.

It was fun to see familiar names popping up in the chat. :) I saw a couple of Hi Checks comments so I hoped that meant you were there.

Did you hear there's another event being hosted through EventBrite for the end of the month? This one looks like it will be free and streamed live on Facebook this time.

Another event?? Yay, that'll be fun. And I'll visit the discord soon, it's nice to hear how organized they are about spoilers. Although I'll be done with the book in a couple of days.
