New Year, New Book Shelves
Jan. 2nd, 2026 03:50 pmHappy New Year, Sounisian!
I recently discovered floating book shelves — a wall mount that allows you to decorate a room with books — and you know I had to do a QT one.

And you all said you wanted to see the rest, so here they are. Give these a try if you have the wall space!

Date: 1/3/26 12:39 am (UTC)I'm also a big fan of the Enola Holmes series! A friend and I have been watching our way through the Cumberbatch/Freeman Sherlock recently. Lots of fun!
Our previous show was Lie to Me and it's been interesting to have 2 back-to-back MCs who both make a career about noticing details that others don't (though very different details) and who are both jerks, but also loyal to their friends (or, friend).

Date: 1/4/26 02:36 pm (UTC)The Enola Holmes are tricky (from a librarian perspective) because Enola's age and the fact that they're quite short (the pre-Netflix ones) leans them towards the juvenile collection, but the content (in terms of social issues of the day) tends more towards young adult.
I agree that the Netflix movies are not great adaptations of the books. I can enjoy them for what they are as long as I think of them as completely unrelated to the books. And I'm all for Nancy Springer making more money! I don't suppose you have any leads as to where I could get autographed copies of her books?
