Indiana girls, MWT is signing books in Dayton on Thursday. Sounds like a road trip!

Here is a new question for you. What do you think Eugenides thought of Costis? I got the impression that he really liked him, and admired him for his loyalty, ethics, and dependability. But, Gen was bound to be angry at the way Costis humiliated him in front of everyone in Attolia who knew Costis had punched him. That was one time in the book I wished I had more insight into Eugenides' feelings rather than seeing everything through Costis' eyes. And what was with him writing the notes for Costis?

Did Eugenides have everything planned ahead of time with Costis, or did he lose his temper and provoke Costis, then use Costis' actions to suit his plans?

OMFG OMFG!

...I could never meet her =/ I'm not cool enough.

And anyway, I have my own personal equivalent of handing Hamiathes Gift off to Eddis on Thursday...so it doesn't really matter how cool I am, I can't go.

Damn the fact that I live in the UK. :) If she ever decides to publicise over here, I will be at the London signing. :D

I think that Gen liked Costis. At first, he was using him to change Teleus's opinion. He meant for Costis to hit him - that's what he confirmed at the end when he said 'I was baiting Costis'. He meant under the archway, when the others would have thought he was baiting Teleus, he was calculating his words to get Costis to hit him instead.

So Gen had everything planned. That's probably why he didn't want Costis to be hung as well, and why he sent him the notes. I think he grew to like Costis, like the story suggested, where they started out as master and slave, and finished as friends of sorts.

Um, I could be wrong though. :) Oh, I have a question, how did you find out about this signing? Is it on her website?

Well, I'm glad one person thinks so =3

Let us know how the Hamiathes gift thing works out.

It's a long, carefully orchestrated story that culminates tomorrow at 5pm.

You'd say, 'Excuse me, I'm the one who sent that grumpy letter when I was 16. I'm still one of your biggest fans. How about an autograph? (And a picture)'

:) I felt the same when I was going to a Terry Pratchett signing. Authors are a bit like dragons, you're never really sure if they do exist as real people. Until you see them.

*hugs* Poor Checkers. :)

Oh, ice burn :P Except it would probably go more like this:

Me: Um, pardon me...
MWT: Yes?
Me: O_O
MWT: ...
Me: O_o
MWT: Can I help you?
Me: KHDSIYRSIOEUOIWEWEIJ!! askljkfopuwopewop! *runs*

I would need backup, to say the least, so that it might go more like:

Me: asdjh--
Backup person: I'm sorry, she was in a bad wreck earlier in the week and hit her head rather badly. What she's trying to say is that she's one of your biggest fans and would like an autograph very much.
MWT: Oh, well that's all right then! I'm terribly sorry to hear that, though judging by her she probably provoked the other driver into hitting her somehow.
Me: *clothes smoldering from the burn*

I'm in a talky mood this morning, sorry XD

*cackles*

If we could be there, we would be. Try and get a friend to come with you. Or write down what you want to say on a sheet of paper, that you can just read off of. She'd probably find it funny. Or, you could write your message on a piece of cardboard to hold up. Something saying "I apologise for being temporarily stunned into gibberish. Normal speech should resume in a few minutes".

Though I'm sure you wouldn't end up speaking gibberish. C'mon! Suck it up, and be brave. You can't miss out on an opportunity to see MWT!

(Not that I'm trying to pressure you into anything) :)

Yes. I'm in a talky mood too for some reason. :D

*dies*

If you guys do decide to do that, pictures will be obligatory. (Or, since I can't actually force you to take any, pictures will be begged and pleaded for until we get some). Though the experience may be slightly disturbing for MWT.

Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure we qualify as 'disturbing' XD

What you say, fellow Indiana-dwellers? Shall we go out and ninja in the night?
