(Um...someone who makes links that work, help me here....)

A little while back I wandered over to a post about the disappointing nature of much YA literature, on a blog called Ask Nicola.  I recommended she try the Attolia books, and she did!  She posted a review on July 15 under the heading Young Adult Adventure Redux.  And she loved them!  So, feeling very proud of myself now for connecting the right books to the right people.  But feeling also a little silly because my links always fail...

Way to spread the love, Philia. :)

What do you think about what Nicola said about the general pattern of the books - that Gen always wins and finds it convenient to be underestimated?

It's true, isn't it? Even if his plans don't work out exactly as planned, he's always made them work somehow in the long run. And about being underestimated - yes there too. It's hard NOT to underestimate him sometimes because he's just. so. good. Also, he never tells anyone how he plans to go about accomplishing anything so he is doubted when things look bad even if that's part of it all.

Oh yes, I agree, I was just wondering whether anyone else had a different take.

(On another note, I love your icon.) :)

I was thinking of Ornon when I asked. :) Though I hadn't thought of relating it to the change in point of view before - it's an interesting explanation.
