How should I begin?

Let's see...[livejournal.com profile] fabricalchemist and I were talking yesterday and I mentioned the idea that I wanted to start compiling a "Queen's Thief Encyclopedia," a sort of all purpose, canon information listing. If any of you are familiar with the Harry Potter Lexicon, that's where I got the idea from.

I created an lj community where I can start to post all of the things that I plan to put in the Encyclopedia. It's just going to be a temporary storage place for all of the info until I can get enough content to validate buying a domain. So, I'll be posting all of the information that I gather and organize from the books onto this new community.

The community is [livejournal.com profile] themegaron and right now there's nothing there, but I'm working on my first post, which is going to be a list of all the characters mentioned in each of the books and how they fit in to the story. I would love it for all of the fans here to come and support. If you'd like to contribute to the Encyclopedia, I would worship your help and I'd give you posting access at the community. Otherwise, I want to invite all of you to come over and join. You don't have to contribute. Just being a member will help motivate me, if I think I'm doing this for someone other than just myself.

Thanks everyone!

That sounds awesome. I'm a Stargate fan and there is a site (http://www.gateworld.net) that has compiled what they call an omnipedia of the universe -- I can't tell you what a help it's been to look through.

How cool to do something like that for the Thief world. I could even see it being used as a reference for brave souls that want to try and write fanfiction...

Anyway, I don't know how much I could do -- but I'd like to help contribute something. :)

What a great idea. I went and joined.

Are you sure you can handle all the intrigue if you become Queen Ro's Secretary of the Archives?

:) Fantastic idea. It'd be wonderful to have all of that information, and all of those stories in one place.

If you need any help, I have a friend who's (supposedly) good with flash, who's set up a website before (He's promised me a 'The Thief' game this summer). I'm not as good, but I'll help however I can. :) Incidentally, I was planning on setting up a similar website over the summer to go with this comm. It's much better that you're doing it now, but again, if you want any help then I have a lot of free time and not much to do. Or I could draft my friend in. He's reading this and nodding right now. :)

But yes, seriously, fantastic idea. *wanders off to join*

:) A game. A small one, something similar to the game that was put on the promotional website after the release of Garth Nix's last book just under a year ago. Two dimensional, something like moving Gen around a maze to find the exit and collect rings along the way. I just thought it'd be fun.

I just have to make sure that my friend doesn't back out at the last minute.

I'd be more than glad to help! I've read The Thief about 6-7 times and tQoA about 3 at least, so I hope I can be a useful resource. =3

Good luck!
