It's Peeps season again

In honor of the above, the Washington Post is holding their third annual Peeps Diorama Contest.

Per the article -

We want you to make a diorama of a famous occurrence or scene or concept. It can be a historic, current or future event. It can be a nod to pop culture. It can be an evocation of an idea or abstraction. The one rule is that all the characters in the diorama must be played by Peeps, those marshmallowy chicks and rabbits plaguing checkout lines in every convenience store this season.

The process:

1. Think of a scene. Sketch some ideas. Possible extra credit is given to those who deftly employ puns in their diorama concept or title.

2. Buy the appropriate number of Peeps. They can be found at your local convenience store, or raining from the sky at sunset as the snows of winter begin to melt.

3. Make your diorama using a shoebox or comparable item of reasonable size. To be eligible for finalist standing, the diorama must be transportable to our office by one person. Embrace the mallow medium.

4. Take photos of your completed diorama from several angles. Send no more than two of your best photos as high-resolution JPEG attachments (do not embed them in the e-mail) to peeps@washpost.com. Put "Peeps" in the subject line or risk being ignored as spam. Within the text of the e-mail, include your name, daytime phone number, town, the title of the diorama and any necessary information about its significance or creation. You may create and submit multiple dioramas.

5. Photo submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. March 15 ...

clever, creative ideas?  puns? from members of sounis?
:-D

the rules continue - and this could be a difficult hurdle to overcome, but I have complete confidence in the cooperative spirit of the sounis community

8. Contest is open to anyone in the United States but the five finalists must be residents of the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia.

but  think of the honor and awesomeness if a scene featuring Gen made the paper!

you may have to create an account to see the article and pictures, but it is a fairly painless process.

Guard's Bath Peep Show?

Made from marshmallow ducks? XD

It took me a very long time to work out what a Peep was and it wasn't something rude. Shush.

I love how they say that the contest is basically fixed. They only allow finalists to be residents in DC, Maryland or Virginia. :(

So I'm not exactly close enough to do the contest... but now I totally wanna make a diorama. We should have a Sounis contest. Everyone could upload photos, yeah?
