Hey...

I have been lurking around for quite sometime by now, and was planing on further lurking, as I'm from denmark and haven't written english in years...

But then I found something...
I was surfing the net i order to see if I could find more about the next book and I stumbled upon this *SPOILER ALERT* .... a description of "A Conspiracy of Kings" and the cover ( as it perhaps (?) will look)....

What a fabulous find! I was afraid to read the full description because these rights catalogues tend to spoil the entire story (and sometimes get it wrong in the process)* but that blurb is just a lovely juicy teaser for what we thought/hoped was in this book anyway. And the cover is gorgeous! Wow!

If I look at the cover, it will just make me that much more excited and unwilling to wait.

On the other hand, if I don't look at it, it'll be really hard knowing it's there.

I think I can rule out the spoilery-ish description. I can handle that.

So. Things to note in the cover:

1) ring. It's a lion - Sounis did have paintings of lions in his palace. Could they be a symbol of the royal family of Sounis?

2) Horse. It looks like one I used to ride, btw.

3) SOPHOS. He's growing his hair out. THIS IS HOT.

4) Jacket. It's very elaborate - almost comparitable to Gen's Medean coats, but more square. Probably of Sounisian origin?

5) Rope. If you zoom in, Sophos has a broken rope tied around his wrist. Is this symbolic (read the description if you want to know what I'm referring to), or is it from an actual event?

6) The sheer awesomeness radiating from the composition.

Nice theory on the wrist rope. I think it's symbolic but a symbol in the actual story. :D

Ooh, I like what TLE said about the cover. I looked at that ring for AGES trying to figure out what it was.
Also, I'd like to point out that that's a very ornate, rich-looking jacket for a slave.

I wonder if the Medes have anything to do with Sophos' kidnapping?

And sounds like the current Sounis' days are numbered. A conspiracy of kings = the two conspirators, Gen and Sophos, are/will be kings. Can we now take Sophos' ascension to the throne for granted? If so, we now have a very possible three-country alliance, everyone!

This cover artist is very keen on having hands prominent in the design, isn't he? Fitting, I guess.

Also, Gen has taken to wearing a lot of red since he became king.

I love the fact that sounis is my place to go to every time I'm outside and need to kill time!
Page 11 was a long scroll and my heartbeat rose 10x with every sophos read.
Could it be safe to say the book is going to be written as sophos pov?
Couldn't see the cover clearly but looks exciting.

Oooh, oooh! Eheheheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. *Blows picture up 200%* I lurvs it.

The horse has no bridle... and probably no saddle for that matter. Sophos is certainly better with horses than Gen.

The cover makes Sophos look a bit like Legolas... and maybe it's just me, but his hand doesn't match the rest of him... it's kind of big, wrinkly and a different tone. Kind of reminds me of the the Sandman (http://media.pegasusnews.com/img/photos/2007/05/04/Fist10_t250.jpg) somehow.
