My contributions to fandom tend to be a little bizarre.
I like to write "filk" rock, tribute songs to Lord of the Rings and other fantasy favorites (including 2 Queen's Thief songs we're still finishing producing...but soon!)
I also spin. I've made yarn tributing Haku of Spirited Away, Laputa of Castle in the Sky, Hans Christian Andersons Steadfast Tin Soldier (the Ballerina)...
I blog about them (as well as posting them to Etsy) at Wordpress.

Under River Aracthus I made from a gift of dyed wool. When I racked my brain about what it reminded me of, it struck me:
"That god! In the Temple!"
Oceanus's robe, in the watertones of his domain. I think he's the one who checks to be sure Gen hasn't left a spot?
Anyway, I haven't blogged this one, but here are some pictures:

And I thought it was just cool because it was blue. Now it's Oceanus blue. FOR THE WIN.

and do you dye it before or after spinning? If before, I bet the carded wool was drop dead lovely.

Date: 6/29/09 04:24 am (UTC)I wish I had dragged you to my school when I had my Colonial exhibit set up, with the spinning wheel that I don't know how to use!
The words you use are strange to me - "roving," for example. Clearly I know nothing about spinning!

P.S. Nice photograph, too, which is really important. Your lighting seems to show your art to best advantage, no?
