Sounis in the news
Nov. 1st, 2009 04:17 pmHello, all!
One of our lovely members (who has requested not to be called out by name, real or LJ, please) has written an article about fanfiction for this month's issue of The Horn Book Magazine, which does reviews of what they find to be the best children's/YA books, as well as articles, interviews, award speeches, etc., all relating to children's/YA literature. Since we are pretty much the best community ever, we feature rather prominently in it. A teaser:
But Sounis brings together hundreds of fans from, quite literally, around the globe — check our user map — and gives us people to talk to. Or, to be honest, people to rant, rave, squee, fangirl, swoon, poeticize, theorize, and offer cookies to.
The entire article is a celebration of fandom and fanfiction's role in it, and makes for a lovely read. You can find the article here, if you missed the link further up. :-)
I think this calls for a party. *sets out tables and chairs and party hats* Go us!
