[identity profile] alineadrklrdsis.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] queensthief
I've got a free trial of some new-to-me video-editing software so in the 3 hours of spare time I had this week I made something. I showed it to my best friend. The first thing she said was "Have you posted this to Sounis?" I ducked my head sheepishly and mumbled something about it not being ready.
So I'm posting this now before I lose my nerve.

I wish I had time for something longer and more impressive; it's still a little rough in a few places but I hope you guys like it. What do you think?

I've never actually watched a book trailer before. That was pretty neat. If I may, I thought the dancing looked a little erratic at first, a little too fast, maybe, but overall, I enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing it with us. :)

Thank you! I really enjoyed it!
But I never imagined Nahuseraseh looking like that.. I was expecting a longer and redder beard.. =P

Hope you have more free time to produce more videos! =)

It was quite good! I must admit the bit from Princess Bride threw me off, though. XDDD

Um, and the hand-tying scene sort of made me choke. o__o I wonder if a psychologist would tell me that that book gave me actual, literal trauma. o__o

Especially since Prince Humperdinck was Attolia...that made me laugh. Good video!!

Oh my goodness. Katie McGrath as Attolia ROCKS MY WORLD. What a brilliant choice! And the hand-tying scene was amazing and shattering. This is a fabulous start, can't wait to see more of your work!

Wow. I wish I knew how to put something like this together. (As it is, I'm sure my roommates are thankful that all I CAN do is fanart.) Great job!

Very cool! I love watching fan-made book trailers and just generally seeing creative stuff like this. Your choices for Attolia and the hand-cutting-off scene, as mentioned by others, were both excellent. Now...King of Attolia, please? :)

Great job!

I almost died when I saw the Princess Bride clip. Awesome choice. That was beautiful, I especially loved the editing with the hand slice then her expression change.

I'm sorry I can't think of anything more in depth or coherent to say, but...
DUDE THAT WAS FREAKING AWESOME, YOU ARE MY HERO. *lauds, applauds, throws roses*

THAT WAS AMAZING. Like everyone else has said, the hand-tying and jailer shots were traumatising ("very good choices", that is) and you have sold me on Katy McGrath as Attolia, which I was very dubious about before!
There was only one bit I didn't like - like styromgalleries, I'm not so keen on the dancer under the trees. I always thought of it as slower, and more of a folk dance; ballet/contemporary is a bit jarring.
Otherwise, LOVE IT. It's wonderful, and thank you so much!

I really like the way you juxtaposed the images of the violence and the dancing. Nicely done.

Sorry, I have to post again: That was awesome! I had never even heard of book trailers before Sounis, and I definitely approve. Yes, I agree that I pictured the dancing as a type of "ballroom dancing" that required partners, which made it sad that she was all alone. But I'm sure since you weren't completely satisfied you can tweak it when you have the time and inclination. I'm just glad (along with everyone else, obviously) that you posted this. I had no idea who the actress is, and she fits Attolia very very well!

Thanks, you did a wonderful job! I'm glad your friend pushed you to post it!

I agree with what others have been saying - Katie McGrath is definitely a fantastic Attolia. I was actually thinking how she would do as Attolia before I saw the video. She fits so well!
