Sockish follow-up???
Feb. 20th, 2010 03:48 pmFriends, friends, remember-thou that The Official Conspiracy of Socks Week? Which Officially came to a halt only yesterday?
(If you are confused, this is the original post and this is one with more ideas.)
...???
Here is my [not quite as crazy and succesful as I had hoped] experience:
So I am someone who NORMALLY wears mismatched socks, so it wasn't strange or unusual or particularly Helpful To the Sockish Cause for me to do so. On the first day, I wore knee socks(with rolled-up pants) to make it more noticeable. Strangely, the only people who commented were two of my friends. I told them that this week "you're supposed to wear unmatched socks," and they made noncommittal noises. (But I didn't even mention the books because I iz a Failure. I should have.)
Unfortunately, that was on Friday, and I didn't really see anyone during the weekend because I was becoming un-jetlagged, and then there was no school on Monday...
I was also sick this week, so I didn't go to school for two days, killing other time to rep Sounis and ACoK/S week. Grr.
I wore my pin on my backpack when I DID go out and about in the world. Again, weirdly, only one person seemed to notice it. What's with THAT?!?!
I have been working to spread the love around a little (I know you guys all do that a lot more than I do all the time, because you're all super cool). A week or so ago I loaned the girl who noticed my pin The Thief. She really likes it. Yay! (She hasn't gotten that far yet -- yesterday we were talking about TT and she was laughing about how Gen is wondering what Pol's reason to be there is. She called him the "micellaneous tough guy." Hee hee. <3 )
During the week, I tried to pick QT ish socks to wear. I found a yellow stripy one for Gen and wore it with a green one (with reindeer -- that didn't fit so much) for Attolia's amputation dress. Unfortunately, my supply of socks does not include ones with sheep, goats, vipers, ferrets, foxes, mountains, inkpots, or Hamiatheses' Gifts, etc. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE WORLD! MUST GO SOCK SHOPPING!
Here's another Gen/Attolia sock pairing
Yes, she is the red and he is the green/blue. There's actually another stripe that's yellow on sock!Gen, but it's covered by my pants.
Also, I looked up from doing homework one day to find that I had drawn this on the back of one of my assignments. (I don't know what my English teacher's going to say when I turn in my binder. Heh heh. But I can't erase it!)
(It's when he's being moody in his room during QoA, I think.)
So did anyone have anything exciting happen to them last week, marginally sock liberation-related or not?
If so, Share Away! (And be blessed in your endeavors.)

Date: 2/22/10 04:17 pm (UTC)But I got my father to read all the Attolia books, and now he's obsessed. He stayed up to one in the morning to read King of Attolia (YOU KNOW THE SCENE). So now me and my sister and father are all gabbling excitedly about the books and my mother is like ENOUGH GOD ALL YOU DO IS TALK ABOUT THESE BOOKS CONSTANTLY.
So that was cool.
