I just finished my reread of ACoK and was musing about dear, dear Sophos and his...

Beard.

He's gone from a sweet, niave boy to a ruthless man, fighting battles and shooting ambassadors. Well, those thoughts reminded me of the kerfluffle about the book cover, when ACoK first was released in 2010. Remember?

Oh, and that made me think of Emily B. Martin and her musings about Eugenides and his beard. Really, so many references to beards--I haven't even mentioned Nahuserish and his forked red beard.

Today I was given* a bookmark, which has on it a book I rather thought Eugenides might be interested in!

This left me wondering, though...

1. What would Gen think of bookmarks?
(Yes, I know, they have scrolls. But bookmarks are small, precious, slip easily into pockets … perfect for Gen!)

2. What is MWT’s favourite bookmark?

So, I just read that Indonesia blocked Tumblr in their country for "indecency."

I think we reprobates may've broken Tumblr for Indonesia. Sorry, Indonesia...

There are Indonesian translations of the books, so sign the petition if you want to help your fellow reprobates access all the QT, MWT, and HarperCollins content on Tumblr again!

Part of the reason for this joke is that #thickasthieves was a questionable tag on Tumblr before the fandom took it over. I still don't know why... I was really confused when all these weird blogs started following me. True story.

Yes, I know. You've never seen anything less like an Attolian guard? This may be true, but this is a bona fide Legoland Guardsman in full uniform, purchased from the original Legoland in Billund, Denmark. He cost about 50 kroner, and used to be a keyring (that's what the knob on the top of his head is!)
So, so. I did my best. Of course, if Megan had really meant it when she said "elephant"...

I love the song Hallelujah and especially like the Rufus Wainwright version. The lyrics have always reminded me a bit of Gen. A Rufus Wainwright song came on my phone's mix today and I glanced at the album cover and look at what I noticed:
