[identity profile] twelfthfantasy.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] queensthief
Hi everyone!

Let me briefly introduce myself. I have lurked here for a long time now. I forget how long. I've posted a comment once or twice, but mostly have lurked. I found this series by what I like to think of as magic - I found The Thief laying around my house one day and no one knew where it came from. I was bored on day and read it, and then read it again. These are now my favorite books ever. I am so glad there is a whole community of people who feel the same.

Now, onto what's really important. I'm sure several of you at least have spotted this already, but Greenwillow is holding a contest to come up with a name for the series! And mwt's top ten favorite's are going to win signed galleys of ACoK. You can get the details here on the facebook page. Can you say BEST CONTEST EVER?!

I mentioned the name the Queen's Thief right away because that's what I call it now, but I realized that there is absolutely no way that I can claim that - that the honor must belong to one of you, so I also posted something to that effect. I hope I haven't offended anyone.

-Carolyn (aka twelfthfantasy)

I've always wondered what I should call the series as a whole. This contest is neat... thanks for spreading the news!

Um, well, its been brought up several times hereabouts. I can't quite remember the first time Megan said there would be two more, or how long ago it was. Anyone?

But yes. I think most of us did already know. :-) Not that any of us are any less excited over the prospect of two more whole books...

I think it's been stated by the author that there will be two more books in the series (six in all), if that's what you're asking.

As far as I know, lots of people call it the Queen's Thief series, so you didn't steal it from anyone. (c: I've been calling it that because I saw it on Amazon and thought it was official, so I'm surprised it's not. I mean, it's on Amazon!

I don't think anyone suggested "Sounis" yet, so I did. :D

Haha I think I've just been avoiding spoilers so much I've missed it. Thank you though.

I posted it, actually. I found a blog that mentioned an e-mail a fan had sent to Mrs. Turner, asking how many books she planned to write. Her answer was: six total, but she may retire before she is finished.

I stated the information in a comment when ACoK's release was first announced.

Since then, the publisher has mentioned it some.

I remember you telling the story of how you came across the book before because it's such a great story. You should definitely stick around.

Cool contest! If only I could think of something....

But...it has a name....

We're not the only ones who call it Queen's Thief. When I preordered my copy of Conspiracy of Kings, it came up as QUEEN'S THIEF BOOK FOUR on the bookstore's ancient yellow-text computer. Some distributor (or even Greenwillow) must have it sorted that way as well.

I also kind of like the sound of "Attolia Sequence", which is what they are called in the ACoK summary (unless I'm not remembering right). However, Queen's Thief (Series? Books? Sequence?) has the advantage of already being widely used. :D
