The writing at the top says "United Under Hephestia", in English transliterated into Greek. The bottom lettering is "Sounis * Eddis * Attolia". Don't pick on my Greek too much, please, I'm still learning. :-)

The loss of a hand started the united countries, a hook is what will strike back at the Medes. ^_^
(I tried to pick one of the official colours from each country...except Sounis which I just guessed because I have no idea what the official colours are there.)

Date: 3/21/10 11:14 pm (UTC)The metal animals, hook, hand, and lily look really good. I like the copyright too.
Re: Entry
Date: 3/21/10 11:14 pm (UTC)I meant "BEAUTIFUL," as you could probably tell. Bleah.
Re: Entry
Date: 3/21/10 11:21 pm (UTC)Um, yes, the copyright. I figured "better safe than sorry". You know, in case Peter Jackson decides to make the movie and STEALS my concept drawings! Ha.
Re: Entry
Date: 3/22/10 03:49 pm (UTC)But a goat for Eddis--didn't think of that. I went with a Griffin, because thats whats in the throne room.
But I just have to digitize mine. Meh...

Date: 3/25/10 05:42 pm (UTC)Here's my entry... it was hard deciding to color it, I have a black and white version too. It was all put together on Photoshop.
http://yfrog.com/c8eddisattoliasouniscolorj
To our left is a lion, representing Sounis, and to our right, the noble griffin, which was, as rosaleeluann pointed out, mentioned as decorating the halls of Eddis (how could I forget about the whole goat thing though? Props to you, freenarnian!)
In the center is a deceptively pretty but very pointy arrow. Attolia/Eddis/Sounis (Atteeounis? Atteellsidounis? Attolleeddisounis?) is not to be messed with. The fletching on the arrow is a lily of Attolia, one of three in the flag — three for the three countries. Their stems are red and point to a Hephestia-ish crown resting at the base of the seal/flag.
The colors are Attolia's (except for some of Hephestia's red), a pastel side of celestial blue and yellow... Gen rules, so nobody else gets their colors in there. Plus I hear he likes yellow. Stripes because it looked like some Greek flags I've seen, and to incorporate the "three" theme again.
And because my hand-drawing skills are rotten, I borrowed two images... the rampant griffon is Lady Robyn's design, here...
http://www.elfwood.com/~ladyrobyn/Griffon-Rampant-Design.2942148.html
and the rampant lion is from a contribution to my Narnia site, here:

Ignore the black; I needed the outlines to fill in.
