queensthiefSo, okay. You know the scene where Gen smacks Costis upside the head with his practice sword? Yeah? Good. And you know how Gen is testing Costis's vision? Well, I think he should have tested it by asking, "How many fingers?" and then holding up his hook. It would have given away him not being ashamed of it, but just imagine the look on Costis's face. Not to mention Teleus's. See, I'm totally going to hell. But I'll have amused myself to no end before I get there, so that's okay.

Hey! I just figured out what Gen was training Costis for! His sources told him that the circus with the dancing bear was coming to town, so he's already plotting to free it and he wants Costis to be its keeper! "I would think it would be easy after dealing with me, Costis."

And the dancing bear will have a poor, mistreated attendant that Costis just can't leave behind when you rescues the bear and when he brings the bear and the PMA back to the palace and Gen sees the PMA for the first time he'll be all, "ZOMG, you're Sophos!" But by this time the PMA will have fallen in love with Costis for his kindness and Costis will be oh so protective and I'm sad now because I really am a fangirl, aren't I?

Date: 6/20/06 09:46 pm (UTC)I was thinking that Costis could slammed by the bear into the wall, and that's when Gen could do the, "How many fingers am I holding up, Costis?" thing. And maybe then Costis could think that he had dismissed all those reports about the king leaving underwear at shrines because obviously only an insane person would do that, but now he's not so sure. And then he thinks HE'S going insane and Gen is really holding up his other hand... and then Irene could come yell at Gen. And the bear could get in among the hunting dogs, and everyone thinks Gen is taking his revenge. Except that could get bloody-- dogs vs. bears. Except a dancing bear wouldn't be trained for a death match, and the dogs might not hunt without direction...
