Jul. 31st, 2006 09:21 amHello! I'm pretty new here, and came across the site after suffering Eugenides withdrawal following my most recent reading of the books. I haven't worked my way through all the discussions, but am making progress. I find it very therapeutic!
I live just west of Madison, WI and have been an MWT fan since Thief came out. My favorite reading is Young Adult Fiction; my favorite bookstore is Borders (they consistently highlight and make available the best -often from smaller publishers - new YA books); I am educated to be a chemist but now spend my time with computers rather than in the lab; I spend my time at home raising two kids and orphaned wildlife (in no particular order), and reading whenever I can fit it in.
I love the sharing of favorite passages! Here is another one I don't think was mentioned earlier, from QoA:
“You said I should do something.” Eugenides smiled in the dark, twisting his knife of revenge a little deeper into the magus.
“I did?”
“As you were leaving, after your extremely edifying visit in the spring. You said ‘You could still do something.’ Your exact words.”
“I meant talk your queen into surrendering, not destroy our navy in its own harbor!” the magus shouted.
This one always makes me laugh!

I access the Internet through my work computer and there is a block on the Conspiracy Room. It is, however, incentive to get home access to the 'net!

That's a shame about the chats. Oh well, I hope you manage to get home access to the net eventually. Relying on the internet at work must make it hard to access everything you want.
