Er, after many unsuccessful attempts to answer this question, I realize that my methods of putting a gif in doesn't work very well...Let me look into it some more :D

You save it and upload it to a image hosting site (like say photobucket) and you can post it where you want it to be. For example, you can post it in your Livejournal profile.
