Introduction and A Little Art

Hello I'm new to the livejournal. The Queens Thief series are my favorite fiction books hands down. My obsession has lasted almost ten years to date. I kind of hero-worship Megan Whalen Turner for her literary craft. Listed in order from my favorite to least of the series is: KoA, TT, QoA, CoK.

Over at the deviantart fangroup: http://queens-thief.deviantart.com/ we had a challenge to draw out a scene from one of the books. I choose to do mine from KoA and I figured I'd share it here. Its not perfect but there you go.

Welcome! That's about my favorite order of the books as well, though I'm actually not sure whether I'd have Thief or Queen in front. King is definitely my favorite, and this is a great scene that you've drawn. The emotions are spot on.

I don't know that I would ever actually get around to it, but say I thought about making icons from some of the panels, would you mind? I would definitely credit your gorgeous original.

that being said, OH MY GOODNESS, THIS IS AWESOME. I love how fluid your lines are, and Attolia's dress, and Gen's face as he reaches out and catches her hand--lovely. :-)

This is really wonderful. Gen and his scar are perfect, I feel an absurb fondness for Costis' nose, but Attolia is my favorite. Her gown, her expressions, the way her body twists in some of the panels. In fact, the way you used motion is impressive, especially where Gen leaps backwards. Very nicely done.

Beautiful! I had a lot of fun "Reading" your panels! And I agree with checkers65477 that you are wonderful at drawing movement! It's really hard to pick a favorite moment here, but I think I like panels 1, 2, and 5 best. If I had to pick. : )
