Date: 9/25/11 10:51 pm (UTC)P.S. I also liked the last frmae that says "Do not offend the gods" with the open windows and the wind blowing the curtains! THat was just perfect! Great Job!!!

Date: 9/25/11 11:59 pm (UTC)So very glad you enjoyed; thank you, dear!
I saw that picture at a photo prompt comm and totally fan-girled the starch out of it. It's perfect for the closing climax of QoA, evoking an image of the wind calmly blowing through the windows after the gods shatter the glass. I've always adored Irene's reaction to the gods literally blowing holes in her palace. Glass is very expensive, you know? Squee!
I also have one for The Thief (http://ninedaysaqueen.livejournal.com/3626.html) that you may enjoy. Tell me how you like it with sound! :D

Date: 9/26/11 03:25 pm (UTC)*sigh* I used to have headphones, until somebody *glares pointedly at 1221bookworm* borrowed them and then lent them to my mom (without telling her they were mine), and I haven't seen them since!
All that aside, that was GREAT with the sound on! The soundtrack was so suspenseful and Just perfect!
And while the sound was turned on, I watched your trailer for The Thief too, which was also absolutely wonderful! The best part: "Instigated by a dirty little thief" !! :)

Date: 9/26/11 06:54 pm (UTC)Ow, thanks so much. The sound is very important to the timing and transition of each image, so I'm glad you enjoyed it both ways! Your comments gave me lots of smiles. :)

Date: 9/26/11 04:19 pm (UTC)The Theif was GREAT!!! Each line I thought, "that was my favorite line" and then there would be another, and I'd say "no, that's my favorite line!" I like how it starts in the dungeon, and has the ring!
Any plans to do one for the King of Attolia??????????????????????? (It would be greatly enjoyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
P.S. - Just the making them is great!! How long does it take you? My sister and I have done a couple 1 minute PSA's, and they always take forever to do. Where do you find your pictures? They just work sooo perfectly!!

Date: 9/26/11 07:39 pm (UTC):) Heh, thank you! Everyone really liked the lines for TT, especially the "legendary thief" bit.
Of course! I want to do a trailer for all four books.
It takes a day or two the lay the ground work. The ground work being the music, all the images, and the text. And that's the easy part. The most time consuming part is probably, fine tuning the timing and the all the ken-burn panning. All and all, I can make one in a week abouts. This one I actually made back in June, but I let it sit for awhile and edited here and there.
The images come from a variety of places. Most of the pictures are of the various cover art that's been produced over the years with a few tweaks. Many of them are from the Japanese editions, which I only have pictures of because of the lovely
Some of the images were supplied by Sounis members over the years, and I found them in the archives. The lion seal ring is one of those, the girl dancing in the white dress, and the map which was drawn by one of my betas. Others I've collected myself, and I few were even snagged from
Honestly, my greatest resource is probably all of your guys. Big thanks to everyone! :)

Date: 9/29/11 01:07 am (UTC)If you need any inspiration for the KoA one (heh, which I hope is coming soon...), I made a weird little outline for a trailer awhile ago but didn't do anything with it due to my nonexistent video skills.

I've actually been thinking about the KoA, and I'm a bit torn. The themes for TT and QoA were quite clear to me. In TT, we have a mythical, mysterious quest. In QoA, we have a war story of love and tragedy and the strength it takes to overcome lose. In KoA... We have absolutely everything! I'm thinking I want to focus on the themes of sacrifice, love, and forgiveness spiced with bits of Gen's con on the entire Attolian court; but fitting all that into a minute to a minute and a half vid will be a challenge.
I'm speculating at music and images right now; so if you have any creative suggestions, I'd love to hear them!
Either way, I'm sure you have video skills, Agh! And! I even know of a great place for you to experiment. There's a very simple Doctor Who trailer maker (http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/trailermaker/) on the BBC website. You have a limit of 30 second, but I made two HERE (http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/trailermaker/view/7iy2bw) and HERE (http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/trailermaker/view/7iy2bh) and learned a lot! It's really not as hard as it looks, so go try your hand! (No pun intended. Maybe...)

Date: 9/29/11 08:02 pm (UTC)I finally settled on a music choice and more or less finalized the text. I just seem to be in lack of very KoA-ish images. I need to go image hunting! You find the coolest fan-girl stuff when you go image hunting. See this beautiful painting (http://ninedaysaqueen.livejournal.com/9862.html) of Irene I found when I was making QoA.
All in all, it should not be a long wait for KoA! Though... I can see why no one has ever made a trailer for this book before. There's so much to cover and a noticeable lack of appropriate images.

Date: 10/1/11 11:01 pm (UTC)Heh, thanks so much for the offer, but I actually just finished and sent it to Mira for review yesterday. Production went quite well once I got started. I just need to make a few more tweaks before I post, so you'll be able to see it very soon!
