More doll versions
Mar. 26th, 2012 11:16 pmSo,
puppeteergirl's post inspired me and I went off to the Tudor doll site and messed around for waaay too long. I also tried the Roman (which I think should actually be Greek/Roman?) version and came up with a few versions of Irene and Helen that I'm pretty happy with.

This is as close as I could get to the infamous green dress. I do like the flow of it, and also the way it could fit into several time periods, costume history wise. (It could just as easily be Regency.)

She accidentally turned out a bit matronly, and I was going for a different shade of red. But oh well! This is meant to be a happier Irene, post marriage. We'll pretend those red earrings are square-cut.

Here's Helen, all dressed up for a state occasion. Someone has bullied her into wearing the wrap-thing, which she is not happy about. Also, she may be annoyed with Eugenides. That's definitely her "what have you done now?" face. She's too pretty, but I do like the contrast I managed to get with Irene.
