Birthday Party for The Thief

But I had to interrupt to talk about a very important milestone that is coming up for our fandom. The Thief and our fandom is turning 20 on October 1st! Yes, in just another year our baby will be graduating college, renting cars, and hitting the liquor stores. They grow up so fast!

an_english_girl has already had a fantastic idea to bake cakes using ingredient from The Thief, and posting photos of our creations to the comm. It might even be fun to make a contest out of it. The winner being the person who makes the best looking cake using the most ingredients on the list.
Don't worry if you don't have an oven or enough people in your household to eat a whole cake. Cupcakes and mug cakes (which can be made in the microwave) are other possible options and are less labor intensive.
Other members are discussing possible meet-ups in different areas of the USA and Canada.
I wanted to plan a comm-wide re-read and discussion of The Thief, plus a role-playing chat using exclusively TT characters.
The re-read discussions would take place over the month of September and the chat on October 1st, which just happens to be on a Saturday. The gods have smiled upon us!
We'd spilt the book into four sections and discuss one section each week leading up to the first of October. I'd need four people to volunteer to be post leaders and start the discussion by coming up with a few topics.
I like to plan role-playing chats by having people sign up for characters anonymously, so no one knows who's playing who. Chats take place in the community chat room, The Conspiracy Room.
You wouldn't need an LJ account to participate in the chat. EDIT: Since you need an account and have to be a Sounis member to view the password, I will be creating a new, temporary Conspiracy Room with a different password for this chat, so it's friendly to non-LJ users. I will post the link and password to the comm the day before the chat.
Plus, we could invite Megan and see if she shows up as a character. She's shown up to chats several times in the past.
Before, we get too ahead of ourselves, I've set up a poll to gauge interest in the different possible events.
