Sounis marked its one year anniversary a while ago, and to commemorate it, Megan asked me to post here for her. I think she summed it up pretty well:

I have about 30 copies of the cover proof for the paperback of The King of Attolia. It's the same art as on the hardcover, with the lovely picture of Gen. It's exactly like a cover, same size, same print quality, on heavy duty cover stock paper.

I know that the one year anniversary of the com has just passed, and I thought I might
offer the proofs as a sort of mini-poster to anyone who wanted one, in honor of the anniversary. First come first served. Anyone who wants one should send an e-mail with his (ha!) or HER address to meganwhalenturner@harpercollins.com, or directly to my address if they already have it.

So, thirty copies of the becautiful KoA cover are available. Go go go! :D

A picture of a cover proof copy can be seen here.

*immediately ran to her email and composed the following:*

Oh Mrs. Turner (or whoever reads this and then forwards it to her),

I would forever be indebted to you if I might obtain for myself one of these pictures that you have so graciously offered on the Livejournal community Sounis. I adore your books, and this poster would obtain a place of special reverence on my dorm room wall, and provide hours of entertainment during the dreary final-filled month ahead.

*insert address*

Thanks a lot!
Jade

...*hopes and prays she was fast enough, and curses those who already have MWT's address and can run straight to her*

Wow, awesome. I don't think it applies to the Dutch though, does it? *snerk* Good luck to everyone else, though~! It's so cool that MWT pays attention to a community like this... but... I'll have to watch what I say... XDD

I was just wondering the same thing about Australia :) Luckily I also have friends in the US who are soon to be posting on a book package of cheap US books so it could always go there instead (as a perhaps intelligibly wrote to MWT due to my rush).

Incidentally I think we should make one of those maps that show where we all are in the world and see the power of Sounis!

How fabulous! I've sent my e-mail and crossed my fingers. All three covers (the three that match, I mean) are gorgeous, but that's my favorite and I'd love to frame and hang it.

I e-mailed her, but I don't know her actual address, just the one in this entry, soooo I really hope I'm not too late! Oh man, I'd love to have that proof!

Alas the woes of the foreign fans! But also, postage is more expensive this way. *is cheap like woah* It's maybe a bit heartless of me, but I don't care enough to make the person-in-charge-of-paying-postage pay extra, when there are so many other/American people that want them, too.

She should hold a special "outside America only!" prize giveaway. But the postage...! (what a terrible running joke...)

Reprobates, huh? *grin* Hell, if I ever did something that generated fandom, I personally would be all over it - contributing to discussions and ship wars and making a mess of myself. XD But still, to me at least, it feels a little weird knowing that The Creator Person is potentially watching. XDD

It depends on the size of the package and the manner in which you send it. Takes about a week for a letter from my mom to arrive, took a month and a half for a box she sent by ship to appear. XD No idea about prices, but it's generally "the faster and bigger, the more money." Which I guess is pretty logical.

*crosses her fingers and hyperventilates hoping she was one of the first people*

I sent the e-mail about an hour or so ago. I'm hoping against all hope that I get one of these. XD

It does a beautiful job of capturing both Gen's youth and the toll his life has taken on him. I'm not at all artistic, so I'm always in awe of those who can conceptualize and capture so much on paper.

... Did anyone see the part at the bottom about an original short story about Gen as well as a family tree and character sketches?

That's going to be awesome!

it's a proof, final copy may be different!

which is to say, don't hold your breath while waiting for a family tree.

But will the short story be in there? Can we hold our breaths for that?

How many people are waiting for Smexy LegoCuteBoy icon?

Hmmm...will it be the story from Disney Adventures, or a totally new one, I wonder?

That's awesome. I'll probably have to buy it when it comes out. I still only have the ARC.
